some cosy cowls

These are a change from scarves, and use less wool and are very comfortable. Edges can be turned up or rolled over for a looser style. Important to keep the cast on and cast off very loose for maximum drape and to use a soft wool.

mystery object revealed

The two pieces are woven together to form a cable. Not sure what to do with it but the idea just appealed because it is decorative... Use your imagination for an idea. Link to cable pattern here.

Visitors

Last night this little mother possum and baby visited the garden just outside my craft room so I gave them some fruit and took some photos. She was still carrying the baby on her back although he was large enough to move around on his own. The mother was cautious but ate the fruit and then left. Like all nocturnal animals they spend the daylight hours asleep in a hollow in a tree and come out to forage at night. We have a special mesh net on a frame over the vegetable garden as the possums are very found of snacking on the veggies. These possums are called brushtails and are common visitors to Australian suburban gardens.

Mystery Object

There are two pieces that are identical that form this object but until you have made it, it is not very obvious how they might come together. Just a little mystery really... What do you think it is?

Birthday blooms

Just thought I would share this beautiful birthday bouquet that I was given last night by my daughter and son in law. What a lovely gift! Couldn't have asked for anything better...
